Wine Tasting Room Manager

Strong leadership skills and strong work ethic required. Detail oriented, excellent customer service skills, excellent communicator, reliable, and self-driven. Must thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, coordinating and working directly with General Manager in assisting with the overall hiring process and team member performance reviews. Oversee and schedule all front of house team members. Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures. Develop and implement employee initiatives and challenges. Salaried position, minimum 40 hours per week. Afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Gillig Winery servers ensure that our guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality customer service. Servers work in the front of the business taking orders, serving food and drinks, and removing dinnerware from the table in a timely manner. Must be able to work as a team player, be quick on your feet, and have a polite and friendly attitude. If you enjoy conversing with people and thrive in a fast-paced work environment, we’d like to meet you. Hours vary. Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

* Bistro Kitchen Assistant

The Bistro Kitchen Assistant will be working with our Bistro Kitchen Supervisor and Bistro Kitchen Lead ensuring food preparation areas are clean and hygienic; utensils and dishes are washed and stored according to Health Department Guidelines. Assists in food preparation, plating food and clean up. Assists in all aspects of kitchen cleanliness, including storage areas and refrigeration units. Position is 30-35 hours per week...afternooons, evenings, Saturdays.

Winemaker

Gillig Winery is seeking a hard working team member with a positive attitude. The ideal winemaker candidate must pay close attention to detail, be committed to quality, and be passionate about wine!

Gillig Winery is located in Findlay, OH and was established in 2016. Our current annual production is approximately 1500 cases per year, and we are looking to expand our production capacity with our new winemaker.
Although there is no previous experience required within the winemaking field, job requirements include, but not limited to, punctual, detail oriented, excellent communicator and teachable, self-motivated, reliable, trust-worthy, cleanliness. This is a physical position. Team member must have a strong mind and body, be able to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds; ability to pull, push, kneel, bend, reach, and climb. This position requires a high level of energy…candidates should be aware of the physical demands of winery work.

Winemaking responsibilities include, but not limited to, cleaning & sanitizing of equipment and facility, fermentation, racking, filtering, bottling with bottling team, record keeping. Average 20 hours per week, with plan to increase hours based on growth of winery.

Bistro Kitchen Supervisor

Qualifications: Self-motivated, responsible, reliable, excellent communicator, detail oriented, well-kept, enjoys cooking and plating food. Food industry experience required.

Responsibilities: Supervises and coordinates activities of food preparation, purchases of food and kitchen supplies. Plans or participates in planning menus, preparing foods, and utilizing food surpluses. Ensures the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic, utensils and dishes are washed and stored according to Health Department Guidelines, develops monthly food and drink specials, supervises and performs food preparation, plating, service and clean up. Ensures all aspects of kitchen cleanliness, including storage areas and refrigeration units. Supervises all kitchen personnel to ensure cleanliness of kitchen and equipment. Participates in the hiring process of new kitchen team members. Trains new team members and performs required evaluations with such team members.

Requirements: Must be able to work independently, stand for long periods of time and willing to lead and be overall head of the bistro kitchen. Maintains an exceptionally clean and organized kitchen environment. Maintains appropriate food inventory as well as appropriate amount of sets/food necessary to serve to our guests. Able to work clear-minded in a fast-paced environment while multitasking. Maintains, trains, and supervises all kitchen team members. Provides instructions in a clear and concise manner to all kitchen team members as to what is expected of them.

Position is full time, 40 hours per week.

* Hostess/Float

A hostess greets our guests, shows them to their seat and gives them menus. They also will be handling guests questions about the winery and/or wine and food menus and assists our staff as needed. A "float" is someone who does just that...floats between assisting our kitchen team members and our serving team members. Responsibilities include polishing stemware, restocking wine, bussing tables, assembling appetizers, and cleaning dishes. Hours are evenings and weekends. This is an ideal position for a student looking for some extra money, is a hard worker, and a team player.
